About us
Ensemble Nuove Musiche was founded in march 2010 by italian composer Marco Lombardi which is also the artistic director of the group.
In all the programmes the ensemble shows a very great but not unique attention to the music of XX and XXI century. Very often one can find an original combination between the most recent past music, especially of the early 20th century, and contemporary repertoire.
The italian “Nuove Musiche” is an explicite quotation of the different “new musics” that caracterize the course of western music in its different epoques: from Caccini's Nuove Musiche (Florence, 1602) to the Corporazione delle Nuove Musiche established by Alfredo Casella and Gian Francesco Malipiero in 1923 and the Neue Musik of Darmstadt Ferienkurse in the second half of the XX century.
